We all have our icks. Some people chew too loud. Some wear flip-flops with jeans. Me? I flinch every time I see a Canva graphic with six fonts… and none of them match.

Welcome to my personal list of social media icks. It’s funny, but also a little serious. Because behind every “ick” is a teachable moment for your brand.

Let’s begin.

1. Canva Crimes
When you use eight different fonts, all bets are off. I promise your message will not land if your headline is in Cursive Party and your subtext is in Comic Sans. Stick to 2-3 fonts max. Clean. Consistent. Legible. Your eyes (and your followers) will thank you.

2. “Link in bio” … WHERE?
You wrote “link in bio,” but there’s no link in your bio. Just your astrological sign and “dog mom.” Please. Update your bio with an actual link (or use a Linktree if needed) so people can actually find what you’re promoting.

3. Hashtag Headaches
#Stop #hashtagging #every #word. It doesn’t help you get discovered, and it makes your captions look like a spam sandwich. Be intentional. Use 3–5 relevant hashtags, and maybe one for fun. #blessed

4. Cringe Captions
You’re not a robot. So please don’t write like one. Captions like “Here at XYZ Co, we strive for excellence in all things” are giving corporate AI. Add some personality! People want to connect with you, not your mission statement.

5. Audio Choices That Hurt My Soul
Look, I love a trending sound as much as the next girl. But please make sure it fits your brand. If you’re a financial advisor posting about Roth IRAs with the “hoe era” soundtrack behind it… we need to talk.

6. Ghost Town Feeds
You posted once in May… of 2023. Your audience has no idea if you’re still open. Even one post a week is better than a feed covered in digital cobwebs.

7. Low-Res Logos
It’s 2025. If your logo looks like it was uploaded through a potato, it’s time for a refresh. Your visuals represent your brand. Let’s keep it crisp.

The takeaway?
Your social media should reflect the quality of your brand. If something makes you cringe a little… your audience probably feels it too. Don’t be afraid to clean it up, glow it up, or call in help (hi, it’s us 👋).

Got any social media icks of your own? Drop them in the comments…I wanna hear the chaos.
