It is easy to treat all social media platforms the same. Post the same thing everywhere and hope for the best. But just like the wonderfully chaotic characters of White Lotus, each platform has its own vibe, strengths, and flaws.

If you want your brand to actually connect, you need to play to the strengths of each platform, not just show up and hope for the best. Let’s break it down.

Instagram = Victoria Ratliff (Season 3, polished on the outside, a little messy underneath)

Instagram is the Victoria Ratliff of social media. On the surface, it is all curated smiles, dreamy sunsets, and effortless moments. But look a little closer and there is a whole lot more going on beneath the filters. Brands win here by looking polished but not too perfect. It needs a little realness underneath the gloss.

Tip: Focus on beautiful, scroll-stopping visuals with storytelling that hints there is more behind the scenes. Serve the polished exterior, but do not be afraid to let a few human cracks show. Victoria would approve. She knows appearances are everything, but reality always leaks through.

Facebook = Tanya McQuoid (Season 1 and 2, emotional rollercoaster but somehow still standing)

Facebook is pure Tanya McQuoid energy. It is emotional, a little chaotic, a little outdated at times, but still weirdly magnetic. Facebook is where people come to connect, share life updates, and occasionally spiral a little, but the loyalty is deep.

Tip: Use Facebook to tell genuine stories, foster community, and keep your loyal base engaged. Tanya might lose track of herself, but her fans never do.

LinkedIn = Cameron Sullivan (Season 2, polished, successful, but maybe trying too hard)

LinkedIn is Cameron Sullivan. Everything looks impressive. The perfect resume, the luxury vacations, the curated success stories. Scratch the surface though and sometimes there is a little too much performance underneath.

Tip: Share wins and thought leadership but balance it with authenticity. Be impressive, but do not turn into the guy making humblebrag posts about closing deals from a yacht. Cameron energy is fine. Just tone it down a little.

TikTok = Portia (Season 2, chaotic but weirdly getting it right)

TikTok is Portia in all her messy glory. It is fast, unfiltered, sometimes questionable, but somehow the right content still hits. TikTok thrives on authenticity, realness, and speed, not perfection.

Tip: Jump into trends, show your real side, and do not overthink it. Portia’s style choices might be questionable, but her ability to stay in the mix is exactly what wins on TikTok.

X (Twitter) = Belinda Lindsey (Season 1 and 3, trying to help but getting caught in the mess)

X is Belinda Lindsey all the way. It starts with good intentions: valuable info, helpful thoughts, but it quickly spirals into drama, sarcasm, and hot takes. If you can move quickly and navigate the chaos, you can build a powerful voice here.

Tip: Use X for quick, bold insights and stay involved in conversations. Belinda might have gotten swept into Tanya’s tornado, but she knew how to hold her own when it counted.

YouTube = Rick Hatchett (Season 3, steady, smart, and playing the long game)

YouTube is Rick Hatchett energy. Not flashy, not desperate for attention, but reliable, consistent, and quietly building major influence over time. The brands that win on YouTube do not chase quick hits. They build depth and trust.

Tip: Create evergreen, high-value content like tutorials, educational series, and thought leadership. Rick was not the loudest voice in the room, but he was the one actually shaping the outcomes behind the scenes.

Why This Matters:
You cannot treat every platform the same and expect real results. Each one demands a different tone, different types of content, and a different strategy. When you understand the purpose of each platform and lean into it, your brand feels natural, credible, and way more engaging. If you are tired of feeling like you are throwing spaghetti at the wall with your social media, let’s build a strategy that actually works for your brand and where you want to go.
