I’m a sucker for a good story. But not just any story – the kind that wraps you up in it. That grabs you by the collar and pulls you into the world so hard, you forget what time it is.

Enter: ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses, for the uninitiated). If you know, you know.

ACOTAR social media

That series had me fully transported. I wasn’t just reading about Velaris…I was there. I could see the mountains, feel the magic in the air, hear the banter, and yes, maybe develop a questionable attachment to fictional fae men (don’t judge me). It wasn’t just a book. It was an experience.

And that’s exactly what your brand and social media should be too. Marketing at its best doesn’t just tell people who you are. It shows them. Invites them in. Makes them feel something.

So how do you create that kind of immersive brand experience…the kind that sticks with people long after the scroll?

1. Build a World, Not Just a Feed

Your Instagram grid isn’t just a place for pretty pictures. It’s the front porch of your brand universe. Use colors, fonts, tone of voice, and content style to create a consistent world people want to explore. Think of each post like a scene. Each story like a little behind-the-scenes peek. The more cohesive, the more memorable.

2. Write Like You’d Text Your Smartest Friend

The ACOTAR magic? The writing feels intimate. Like you’re in on something. Your captions should do the same. Ditch the corporate-speak and write like you’re having a convo over spicy margs with someone you admire. Be clear. Be clever. Be you.

3. Let People Behind the Curtain

You know what fans love about book worlds? The little details. The rituals. The unexpected moments that make characters real. Your audience wants that from your brand too. Show them your process. Your quirks. The bloopers and the brilliance. That’s what makes them root for you.

4. Create Emotional Landmarks

Feyre’s first visit to the Night Court? Chills. Your brand should aim for moments like that. Maybe it’s a launch. A rebrand. A heartfelt founder post. A hilarious reel. Create content that makes people feel whether it’s joy, curiosity, nostalgia, or even righteous rage. (Looking at you, algorithm changes.)

5. Talk With Them, Not At Them

Great stories pull you in because you feel seen. So engage! Comment back. Ask questions. Use DMs. Let your audience shape the story with you. Marketing is no longer a monologue; it’s a relationship.

Your brand doesn’t need to be fantasy fiction to feel magical. But it does need to make people feel something.

Let your audience fall into your world the same way I fell into Velaris head over heels, completely immersed, and dying for the next chapter.

And if you need help making your brand feel like an experience, not just a business… you know where to find us.

Marketing should be fun. And feel like magic.
(Spicy fae romance optional, but encouraged.)
